Like a good plate of ribs and potatoes, things are taking a little longer to work themselves out…
Devin Poolman has left a comment on the wildly popular Tuba post, I’ll post it here to bring it forth. Thanks Devin for the communication….
This process is taking longer than we’d like - and everything is in our investors hands at this point. I had hoped that we’d be done 2 weeks ago, but we have to get our investors to agree on final terms with one of the potential acquirers. We’ll let you all know as soon as anything is final. Thanks.
savejpg.com ranked 55,278th most popular website last week in Venezuela!
Take that tubafrenzy.com!
Other than that….. still waiting…..

JPG DOESN’T NEED TO GO AWAY!
The point of this page is simple - to show that the community behind JPG doesn’t need to stop existing.
There has been too much effort made by the thousands of contributors to JPG to have it pulled away so quickly and with so little warning. The community was built by the members, with the encouragement of a dedicated staff who did everything in their power to make it work.
The value is beyond bad economies and spreadsheets, and if let go to vaporize, it will be gone forever
Now your help is needed - and it’s simple:
Leave a comment on this post with your JPG story, and let us know how much, if anything you’d be willing to pay for an annual subscription for a community like JPG. If that figure is Zero, then let us know that too.
Then vote in the poll below to let people know that there is a willingness to support a community like JPG
If there is enough interest in open discussion, a forum will be started to accommodate that.
Thanks for your participation - to leave a comment, hit the link below showing the current number of comments.

Looking good!
An email was sent out in the wee hours of this morning by Laura, the editor of JPG. In it she says that JPG will remain open!!!!!
The first confirmation! Nicely done all!
The text of the letter in full for those who didn’t get it:
We couldn’t ask for a better community. In the week or so since our last email, the outpour of support has exceeded our wildest expectations. Your efforts, such as starting savejpg.com, writing blog posts, commenting on Twitter and Flickr, and generally making your voices heard, have provided exciting new opportunities for us.
We’re thrilled to say that because of you, we have multiple credible buyers interested in giving JPG a home. We will be keeping the site up after all, and hope to have a final update in the next week or so on who the acquirer will be. Thank you for making all of this possible.
